Originally from south Florida, Katie relocated to Ocala in 2005, then Citrus County in 2012. She and Colleen began Florida Caregivers in 2014, with the goal of more personalized care for seniors in the area. Witnessing very poor standards of care and monitoring with other companies, Katie and Colleen knew they could do better and began the company with a clear vision, for more personalized private duty care, maintaining the highest quality of care. Gaines, R.N. and OwnerColleen E. Gaines, R.N. is a wife, mother, and grandmother of beautiful twins. As a navy wife, she has lived in various parts of the country, but has always called Florida home. With a degree in nursing from Pensacola State College, she began her career in nursing in 1989. She continued her journey when she began doing home care in 1994.
